Well, no paddling today. With storms threatening, I decided to stay at Groveton marina another day and leave tomorrow morning. Glad I did. I walked about a mile to Coraopolis and had breakfast at Rea's, sausage gravy on toast (SOS for you military people), two fried eggs, two sausage links and coffee, $8.43. Did some shopping at the hardware store who had everything, and got some things at the convenient convenience store.

Came back to the marina and talked for quite a while with Geri Morgan, the owner. She's a dear, thinks it's too hot here, and too humid, and wants to move to Florida. Hope she gets her wish. She has been an absolutely wonderful hostess. Met Sensi, the local hound who seems to belong to everyone, and a big black tom cat who didn't give me his name. I let all my wet things dry out and am ready to repackage for the river tomorrow.

This evening I walked back to Coraoplois and ate pizza at Nicco's. Very good - also got a ham hoagie that will keep for breakfast in the morning. This has been a good rest day which I had planned for about once a week, so I really haven't lost any time.

There's some sort of polar vortex coming through, temps at night to be in the low fifties and high forties for a few days. Highs in the seventies, which will be nice for paddling. Rain isn't forecast again until Saturday so they should give me three days of cool paddling.

Life is good.
